Watermill, NY, Native Coastal Courtyard

The courtyard was designed to include Al Fresco dining area surrounded by native coastal plantings and pollinator garden  The stone and gravel pathways take us through garden islands of lavender, blue, whites and yellow.
This garden embraces the four season beauty of the Eastend.

Deep bayside pollinator borders were designed to surround the lounge and poolside areas creating a floral sanctuary .

Sag Harbor, NY Formal garden design

The property design is based on a lush green on green palette.  
The primary plantings are deer resistant, evergreen and formal in design.
Upon the client’s request the kitchen garden was designed with a curated chartreuse and green color scheme. 
This traditional, four season property is calm and relaxing.

The entire property was re-imagined  with a collection of garden rooms with year round interest. The garden beds include the pool area, island beds and foundation plantings, installed with native and decorative plants allowing the client to enjoy a four season landscape.

Noyack Sloped Natural Garden

This sloped backyard located in Noyack, was designed to be relaxed and informal for the whole family to enjoyed.    Native grasses and perennials were used to attract pollinators as well as fruit bearing shrubs for the family to enjoy.

Sagaponack, Backyard pool side garden

This lush shaded border viewed from across the lawn was designed with variegated foliage plants that would pop from a distance. A cream, fuchsia and yellow palette were chosen to read from a distance while golden ferns, blue-grey Lamium and variegated Hosta fill out the front of the border lending a woodland feel.

Sagaponack, Backyard/Pool Shade Garden

East Hampton, NY - Revegetation Design and Installation

East Hampton property installation included hardscape and softscape around a newly installed pool. The clients dream was to have guests enter the garden at the lower level without revealing the pool.  Eventually they would discover the pool as a surprise oasis.  
The Upper house terrace allows the guests to take in the gardens and pool as a complete experience.   A collection of native plants, grasses and shrubs were chosen to create a multi seasonal garden that invites butterflies and box turtles.

The landscape design of this country home in Watermill are designed to be casual and align with a relaxed feel.  The colorful borders that surround the house were designed with native grasses, a variety of hydrangeas,
spring and summer blooming bulbs, Shrub roses .

Watermill, NY - Summertime Gardens

This Watermill property is the tale of Two Gardens.One a playful, colorful poolside border planted with pink and salmon roses , an array of bright pollinator perennials, annuals, herbs and berries.  To enjoy as one stops to view the garden.

The shrub and perennial border on the opposite side of the property is amassed with interesting foliage plants of gold and pink hues and native grasses to catch light. A subdued color palette of white, pinks ,blue and creams flowers spring up during the summer season and hellebores, red twig dogwood, evergreen ferns support the space in the quiet of winter.

Some of our clients request us to create an intimate, cozy garden space for meditation, a breakfast nook or reading area.

Hotbotany loves to use unusual plant combinations, putting together herbs, flowers, edibles and fragrant blooming plants to be enjoyed as an artful addition to dining al fresco or poolside etc.
